The candidate must show evidence of the ability to complete tasks, manage tasks and manage contingencies in the context of the job role for each of the following: |

- Identify (insert number) potential client groups and what ceremonial services could be required
- Identify any scenarios where a celebrant may decline the request for business and draft a response
- Develop sample resources including:
- ceremonial content for each of the following various types of ceremonies including: a new beginning (baby, relationship, role, place or project); the anniversary of an event (birth of a person, relationship or project); and the ending or loss (a person, relationship, role, place or project)
- a checklist for planning ceremonies
- Identify the short-term, medium term and long-term needs of a celebrant in offering a private professional celebrancy services to the community from a homed based service and develop a business plan addressing each requirement including essential knowledge, skills, and personal attributes, practical, physical and non-physical resources
- Identify three possible strategies for obtaining feedback from the client or potential client for the following circumstances – request by email or letter, request by phone (voice only) and face-to-face interview
- Locate and where appropriate create the relevant official and non-official forms that are required for legal and non- legal ceremonies including:
- celebrancy planning and recording forms for all ceremonies and services offered
- celebrancy practice letterhead; sample formats for providing text responses and by snail-mail for letters; invoices; receipts and other business related forms
- Create diaries and records of work oncoming, including schedules and time-checks to ensure compliance with code of practice and provide examples of record keeping methods
- Create and document in word format recorded message to be used on phones and protocols for answering calls for self and others answering inquires for celebrancy services
- Demonstrate ability to organise and safely store of information required in using technology and equipment, eg virus software, back-up storage of important documents
- Demonstrate ability to use the full range of equipment including:
- Computer, ipads to write and store documents, invoices, receipts and other business related material
- Overhead projectors, data projectors, PA Systems, Music players for ceremonies
- Mobile Phone to receive and retrieve messages, and place on mute
- Demonstrate the ability to set-up and use internet based communications and web technology, including:
- set-up email the accounts, email aliases and email signatures
- send and receive emails from own mail box and web mail
- locate and download appropriate web-browers conduct web searches to locate poetry, prose, locations of venues, plan journeys to and from venues
- set-up and edit where web listing in free online directories
- create and edit simple 3 page website using free website options and website templates
- register and use online forums and groups for celebrant and other association support and ongoing professional development
- use online portals and access pass worded sections of websites, demonstrating safe and accessible storage of passwords

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of: |

- Celebrancy services
- The broad range of types of ceremonies and celebrations (love, life, loss) across different cultures and how they may be tailored to meet different client preferences
- Distinctions between religious and civil ceremony content i.e. Church vs. State issues
- Relevant legislative and statutory requirements and provisions relating to provision of celebrancy services
- Standards and code of ethics relevant to celebrancy
- Broad awareness and understanding of a diverse range of client groups including those from different cultural backgrounds, religious beliefs, language levels, personal capabilities of clients
- Broad understanding of types of legal and practical services to which celebrants refer clients, particularly in relation to Interpreter services and those related to parenting; relationships; ageing; loss and grief
- Basic understanding of the celebrant’s role as a professional service provider, including :
- Conflict of interest issues in a celebrancy role
- Client-centred focus whether the client is an individual, couple, family, group or community
- Resources and associated costs required to establish, support and maintain a celebrancy service/home based small business, including: insurance (public liability, professional indemnity, accident and other) professional association membership etc.
- Basic knowledge of community resources and practical information
- Knowledge of the range of skills required as a Celebrant including:
- Communication
- Conflict resolution
- Building relationship and rapport
- Business Management
- Research for poetry, prose, music, symbols, etc for ceremony design
- IT and computer
- Desktop publishing
- Group work
- Personal Presentation and Performance
- Creativity and creative writing
- Liaison, Networking and Referral
- Professional and business policies and procedures for:
- recording information and keeping records, including information and records required for legal marriage
- maintaining supplies of business forms, including supplies for legal marriage
- security, backup and confidentiality of client information and legal requirements.
- communicating with new and proposed clients using a range of modern technologies
- Communication mechanisms such as email, telephone, mobile phone, Skype, web pages.
- WHS requirements applying to use of basic workplace technology and equipment
- The operation of information systems and technology- word, excel, email, text and voice phone, VoIP (Skype), web pages, web forums, online forums, online portals, web listings, advertising, personal websites.
