Application This unit describes the knowledge and skills required by celebrants to work with  clients in the celebrancy context to clarify their needs and identify services to address those needs.This unit is suitable for individuals seeking to work in a range of celebrancy contexts.

1. Scope and prepare services to provide loss and bereavement services in a
celebrancy context
1.1  Identify a range of loss and grief situations for individuals, couples,
families, groups and communities and research examples of such situations
both past and present where ceremony /rituals have been associated with those situations. 1.2 Identify the range of possible celebancy services related to loss and grief
that a family / community oriented celebrants could offer and the objectives
of each possible service

1.3 Research current statistics for loss and grief situations and the factors
that contribute to these as well as for the range of possible celebrancy
services

1.4 Identify the pros and cons of offering the services related to loss and grief
for clients (individuals, couples, families and communities) and the
celebrant

1.5 Identify strategies and associated resources that could assist clients in dealing with positive and negative aspects of loss and grief, ceremonies and celebrancy services related to loss and bereavement.
