Note: Whilst CoCA maintains a neutral position as regards changes to the definition of marriage to include same sex couples, as part of CoCA's goals in relation to Child and Forced Marriage concerns, CoCA recommends a definition which

  1. retains the maturity implied by "a man and a woman" which is not conveyed by the word "people" which can include children and
  2. strengthens the principle of consent.
