Note: There are  several arguments in this letter that are incorrect. The RTOs did have input in both public consultations and 40% did agree that the Diploma was a more appropriate level. They supported a change from a Certificate of attainment for one VET unit of the Certificate IV in Marriage Celebrancy to a full Certificate IV in Celebrancy in the second review of the celebrancy qualification. Why does the celebrant qualification need to be changed at this time? The National Skills Standards Council, part of the Australian Government’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) system has put out a directive to all Industry Skills Councils to ensure all VET qualifications are free of duplication focus on skills and tasks, not knowledge alone remain relevant to all workers current and emerging needs Is the Coalition of Celebrant Associations – CoCA responsible for making changes to the celebrancy training?
Dear We are writing to seek your involvement  in the review of the Certificate IV in Celebrancy. As you may be aware, the Community Services & Health Industry Skills Council (CS&HISC)  is currently reviewing and streamlining its Community Services and Health Training Packages. The celebrancy qualification comes under its Client Services section.
