Coalition of Celebrant Associations

Australia’s Peak Celebrant Body

Make your dollars work for work

Hello {subtag:name|part:first|ucfirst},

How many thousands of dollars do Commonwealth marriage celebrants spend with private companies to get wedding work?

Australian money 175Does spending all that money create one more wedding?

No.

In fact, the latest ABS Statistics showed the wedding market decreased in 2015 by 7,602 (down 6.3%).

Yes spending money may get some celebrants better market share.

However for every extra weddings some celebrants get - other celebrants get less.

Isn’t it time for all marriage celebrants to only advertise through non-profit celebrant associations?

For $500 per year, you can have:

  • 4 or 5 professional celebrant association memberships such as:
    • one national one that focuses on weddings or all ceremonies
    • one local state association that offers extra local knowledge and networking
    • one association that supports your specific local area
    • one that supports expanding professionalism in celebrancy, and/or
    • one that supports marriage equality and promotes a range of ceremonies via social media

      That’s 4 or 5 celebrant associations giving
    • you a better chance of being found through 4 or 5 websites directory entries
    • more promotion of celebrants to the public as 4 or 5 non-profit associations will have more money to promote their members

  • your Professional Indemnity and Public Liability and/ or Copyright licence cover as part of the CoCA group associations policies, or gain a $30 discount on individual PI and PL insurance for $99 as a CoCA association member

  • your peak celebrant body advise government on your behalf. As a professional celebrant organisation, CoCA actively works to:

Of course in a free society we can spend our money as we wish. However, think about it:

If every Commonwealth marriage celebrant only advertised through their non-profit celebrant associations, that would be 4 million dollars your celebrant associations.

Your money would be used to work to support celebrants,   not all the other wedding things that may be important, but that do not benefit us as celebrants.

Let’s get together to make it better for us all!
