I have come to dread OPD. Thankfully the last couple of years I've had a great trainer, who makes the "same old same old" a little more interesting. I have often wondered how some of the participating celebrants, who turn up looking like they just got out of bed, present themselves to prospective clients.

I would like OPD to be concerned about ceremony and not be bogged down with obscure legal examples. Please can we have some interesting PD on the actual ceremony and the various ways we can cater for the preferences of our clients

I understand that Lifelink will be a state of the art recording keeping system for the future.

However it has been a nightmare to use during all the changes.

One big issue for me as a Commonwealth marriage celebrant is that I used to get BDM support for doing this FREE data entry for the NSW registry. With all these hassles it is just not worth the hassle for the smaller number of weddings I now do. There should be at least a dedicated phone number for Registration inquiries, even if the BDM are no longer going to give marriage advice to us.

Our role as civil celebrants is getting more compromised every month by all sorts of changes and costs that do not apply to ALL celebrants. Surely this is not fair.
