Hello Visitor,
We aim to keep Federal MPs and Senators informed of our Celebrant industry and the work of Australia's peak advisory body, Coalition of Celebrant Associations (CoCA) Inc.
Topic: Your questions and concerns on marriage law and its implementation in Australia
Firstly, congratulations to our new Prime Minister and his newly sworn in Cabinet. The Coalition of Celebrant Associations welcomes the continuation of information between our organisation, Federal Members of Parliament and Senators.
Currently, our Coalition meets twice yearly in Canberra to discuss issues relevant to our profession and in particular, the Marriage Act 1961 and Marriage Regulations 1963 and issues pertaining to the Commonwealth Celebrant Program.
CoCA then meets the following day with the Marriage Law & Celebrant Section of the Attorney-General’s Departmental officers at the Marriage Program Stakeholders meeting.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, 26th October 2015.
We would like to extend an invitation to all MP’s and Senators to contact us with:
- any issues or concerns you have in relation to marriage and family life in Australia?
- any ideas about the role civil celebrants could play in strengthening family and community relationships for both current and new citizens in Australian society?
Please send your questions and concerns to our Secretary below by Monday, 19th October 2015.
We look forward to continuing the collaboration on issues in our industry.
If you need more information about our profession, please contact the CoCA Secretary.
Kind regards
Judy Brooks CoCA Secretary secretary@coalitionofcelebrantassociations.org.au Published by: Coalition of Celebrant Associations (CoCA) Incorporated ABN: 60 306 885 313 www.coalitionofcelebrantassociations.org.au
